At Synergy Social Ventures (Synergy) we believe in the power of entrepreneurial approaches to address serious economic, social and environmental problems of our time. We also believe in the power of philanthropy to catalyze these necessary solutions.
We operate at the fulcrum where ideas and resources come together to create social change. We work closely with both social ventures and philanthropists to ensure there is synergy in the synthesis of ideas and capital to create the most impact.

We identify promising early stage social ventures and support them in strengthening their organizations and growing impact.
Philanthropy
We help philanthropists develop and implement their philanthropic investment strategies and facilitate effective capital flow to social ventures.
Our Role
The unique strengths that position us well for this role include:
- Identification of high potential ventures: We know what makes a good social venture and are able to identify the highest potential ventures in the region.
- Strong understanding of social venture models: We understand the unique aspects of the social venture model and have supported and assisted in the development of many social ventures in Asia.
- Frequent interaction with entrepreneurs: We are on the ground and have frequent interaction with entrepreneurs, understanding the contexts in which they operate and the challenges they face.
- Ability to create effective partnerships between philanthropists and entrepreneurs: We understand the perspective of both philanthropists and entrepreneurs. We bring both together and facilitate and manage effective partnerships.
- In-depth understanding of social finance models: We understand the types of capital that social ventures require and how to effectively structure and deploy philanthropic investment.
- Extensive global network: We have an extensive network of partners and supporters (including knowledge, human and financial capital) worldwide that provide opportunities for exposure, mentorship and financing to social ventures in our community.
We currently work in Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Laos, Nepal, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
