Abbie Jung, Co-Founder

Abbie is a development professional with over 10 years of experience working with international aid and development agencies such as Medecins Sans Frontieres, Save the Children, International Rescue Committee, Population Services International and the World Health Organization. Most recently, she was the Chief Investment Officer at a Hong Kong-based venture philanthropy fund where she applied the venture philanthropy model toward sustainable development goals. She has a BA in Neurobiology from University of California at Berkeley and a Masters in Public Health from Columbia University. Abbie currently sits on the organizing committee for the 2012 Philanthropy in Asia Summit (National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre in Singapore) and the iOnPoverty Millennial Advisory Board.

Jana Svedova, Co-Founder

Jana is social finance professional, with significant experience in social enterprise development and financing. She has worked with numerous entrepreneurs in North America and Asia on developing their social enterprise models as well as with social finance institutions where her roles included deal sourcing, investment structuring and post investment management. Before choosing to focus on social finance, Jana was in the financial services industry in Canada in areas ranging from wealth management to small business banking. Her experience with Vancity Savings in Vancouver, a financial institution that is a leader and pioneer in the industry with its range of products and services for social enterprises, inspired her to devote her career to this sector. Jana holds a BA in International Relations and an MBA from University of British Columbia. During her MBA studies Jana was a research fellow at the University of British Columbia’s Center for Sustainability and Social Innovation, conducting research into the effectiveness of models for financial sustainability in not-for-profit organizations and financial tools for a green economy.

Serrie Fung, Co-Founder

Serrie is a non-profit management professional with particular experience in fund and awareness raising, communications, and event management. Most recently, she worked for a venture philanthropy fund in Hong Kong, leading its communications efforts to engage donors, entrepreneurs, and the public through its website, events and media. Previously, she has also held roles in corporate training and human rights advocacy. She has a BA in International Relations, Political Science from Duke University. During her studies, she conducted an independent research project exploring the effectiveness of fair trade in alleviating poverty. Serrie currently sits on the iOnPoverty Millennial Advisory Board and co-curates FYSE‘s bi-weekly Hong Kong Social Innovation Digest.
